This scholarship will help me attend the Summer program at The Studio Art Centers International (SACI) in Florence Italy next summer 2014. I am currently a junior in the Painting department at the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. It has been my dream to study abroad from the time I came here from Alabama. During my trip, I will visit the great works of art that I can only see in text books for now. I will also be learing from some of the greatest teachers.
The school I currently attend tends to focus on conceptual ideas when it comes to the art of painting. I would love to increase my technical abilities at the same time.
