IAUPR-Barranquitass mission is to serve- first and foremost- the population in the central region of the island by providing them with a higher education of excellence at the post-secondary- undergraduate- and graduate levels. Four priority areas comprise the mission statement. It is comprehensive and based on the needs and demands of this geographical area and all of Puerto Rico. 1.Offer programs of the highest quality in the fields of Education- Social Sciences- and Humanities that foster the development of competent and efficient professionals endowed with knowledge- skills- and attitudes to satisfy the needs and demands of society today and in the future. 2.Develop professionals in the fields of Business Administration and Secretarial Sciences endowed with the highest skills- capable of understanding the impact that the economic and social forces have on the countrys development- who value the importance of using and managing technology- and who are conscious of professional ethics and their moral- psychological and cultural responsibilities. 3.Promote interest in Natural Sciences- Mathematics- Technology and Health Sciences. Develop competent professionals in these areas with the knowledge- skills- and attitudes required by new trends and the demands and needs of a society in continuous transformation- committed to the ethical and moral application of knowledge and aware of the need to do their part to improve the quality of life at all social and economic levels in the country.4.Barranquitas Campus- because of its strong ties to the community- will contribute to the communitys cultural- social- and economic development by promoting research- a better quality of life- and the values and traditions which distinguish the community. It will be a center of educational activities and community service.
