Founded in 1964 in honor of the 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy University is a nonprofit private university with three campuses in the San Francisco Bay area and a member of the National University System. John F. Kennedy University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the same body which accredits the other major universities and colleges in the western United States.
