Hi Louise

What I think is that you just need to set yourself a schedule in weeks until you take it and divide in equal parts the material you have to study. I recommend the Kaplan books better than any other brand, but I also recommend the gre flash cards from barrons and vocabulary cards from kaplan. They have been helping me a lot!

I hope I can help!

Hi Igor,

I have been veery good thank you! Thank you for your comments, its always great knowing that someone out there is reading about your life story. I hope you find a job soon, although I know the labor market does not seem to promising right now, just hang in there. Well, first of all the GRE is A LOT of work! Its crazy, if you have ever studied for the SAT well this obviously is harder, given that it is directed for graduate school. I have not done my general GRE yet but I am about to do the GRE Psychology Subject Test. For that i have been using both the Kaplan and Princeton Review, but Barrons I have also as a back up, although I would not recommend Barrons, it is definitely not reader friendly and it just gives you a headache and confuses you even more. I completely recommend Kaplan and Princeton Review. I would go ahead and try those out first, and if you want to try out Barrons, I heard someone in my class talking good about it but I have not used for the general GRE and the book for that might be more reader-friendly. Try to schedule your time to have pages studied every week and try to leave a few weeks before the exam to do practice tests and see where you need more practice and studying. I have been studying for 6 weeks now, and still have half of material to go through but once it is done I know it will be worth it.

I hope I helped you and if you have any other questions, let me know!

Thank you for your comments again!

Hi Laura,
How've you been?! I just read your blog and I found it really interesting! By the way, congratulations on your achievements. I know how hard and much effort it takes to accomplish what you have done.
Right now I'm living in Southern California and I just graduated from college, I majored in Economics. Now I'm trying to find a job but as you know things are quite difficult in the labor market and I was thinking that in the meantime while looking for a job I can be studying for the GRE. So I wanted to ask you if there is any webpage or book that you'd recommend in order to preapare for the test.
Thank you and take care.
