July Edition - Issue #21

New Partnership with Shorelight Education

We are excited to announce our new partnership with Shorelight Education. Shorelight provides enrollment services to colleges and universities, handling everything from direct enrollment for qualified students, to pathway program and ESL students. Shorelight evaluates the level of help a student needs and places them in a program that fits - leading to enrollments at their partner institutions.

Shorelight handles direct enrollment services for schools such as Auburn University, Adelphi University, American University and others. Welcome aboard Shorelight! We look forward to being a part of your successful recruiting strategy.

Lead Nurturing with Email Marketing

Industry standards say that once you’ve received a lead you should respond within 24 hours. We wholeheartedly agree with this practice, but know it's often not feasible to accomplish this due to lack of staff and resources.

To help our clients meet this 24 hours response goal we’ve established a new email nurturing add-on. This add-on is a cost effective way for you to hand-off this time-crunch burden to us. We will design and implement an email series that entails sending the first 4-6 emails to students that inquire about your school through your InternationalStudent.com profile.

If you’re interested in learning more about our new email nurturing add-on contact us today for more information.

Welcome Aboard

University of Redlands - We are pleased to welcome aboard University of Redlands. The university is located in Redlands, California, and has students from 54 different countries who speak 30 different languages. According to Kenley Jones, the Director of International Recruitment, “University of Redlands is excited to work with InternationalStudent.com and be a part of the USA School Search. As Redlands continues to increase and diversify their international enrollment, Redlands wants to work with organizations that support that mission. We feel that InternationalStudent.com can identify students interested in studying not only in the USA, but also Redlands.”

We are excited to work with Kenley and University of Redlands!

The Power of Testimonials

If you’ve ever purchased anything online you’ve most likely taken a look at its online reviews. It’s no secret that online reviews have a significant effect on our purchasing decisions. In fact, 88 percent of consumers trust online reviews as much as a personal recommendation, according to a survey by BrightLocal.

Deciding what school to attend is certainly not the same as purchasing a product online, but other students recommending your school can still be powerful. By incorporating student testimonials into your marketing plan it provides potential students with the information they want when making a decision.

What makes a good student testimonial? The student should tell a story while focusing on a few key points. You want your audience to feel an emotion like inspiration, belonging or excitement and leave with a few takeaways (like you have faculty that go above and beyond). Determine a topic and these key points, and let your students run with it. Once you have one or two solid testimonials add them to your school’s profile on InternationalStudent.com to let prospecting peers hear how other international students feel about your programs.

No Cosigner Loans Are Now Available

We’re excited to announce that our international student loan comparison tool includes loans that don't require a cosigner! During the application process no cosigner loans look at factors like the school the applicant attends, and the student’s academic success - not if they have a cosigner. This opens the door for many promising students to receive the funding needed to begin or continue their education in the US. If you have students who could benefit from a no cosigner loan you can find more information to pass along below.
