PARTNER Newsletter

During this time of year we are usually gearing up to head off to the annual NAFSA conference. We are saddened we won’t have the chance to meet with many of you in St.Louis next week, but we know the world of international education will remain as connected as ever despite what comes our way. This month we’ve highlighted ways you can continue on through virtual means, and of course provided the opportunity to meet with us virtually instead of in the great state of Missouri.

We hope you stay well and continue to let us know how we can help.

Virtual Recruiting and Connecting During COVID-19

If you missed our webinar on Virtual Recruiting and Connecting During Covid-19 you can still watch it online. Although there are changes each day, there you can see how schools are currently taking steps to accommodate students during these times, along with ways you can continue to reach international students virtually.

Tips for Planning a Successful Facebook Live Event

Right now is an ideal time to make use of Facebook Live to keep international student interest alive. But before you go live, take a look at our tips to plan a successful Facebook Live event:

  1. Come up with a relevant topic to highlight and make it something enticing to international students like scholarships, information about your institution’s international resources, visa information, etc.
  2. Create a title that grabs attention and summarizes what your event is about.
  3. Outline key touchpoints prior to your event.
  4. Create a Facebook event for the Live event. This is an easy way to get the word out and start gaining RSVPs.
  5. Market the event through social media platforms, email, etc. This step is key for its success.
  6. Use headphones with a microphone to ensure the best audio quality.
  7. Moderate comments and answer questions. Your viewers want to hear from you!

Taking these steps will help in running a successful live event on your institution’s Facebook page. If you want to reach a wider audience, we’ll host your live event for you. Our past events have an average of 844 total viewers! If interested, contact us for more information.

Optimizing Your Institution’s Social Media Presence

Having a social media presence is a great supplement to broaden your institution’s international student reach in today’s market. Instead of going through the motions of posting, we want to make sure that you’re getting the most out of the time you put in. Take a look at our guide we created on Social Media and Recruiting International Students and start optimizing your institution’s use of social media!

Staying in Contact in Lieu of NAFSA Annual

May is our favorite time of year here at InternationalStudent.com, and our team will miss having the opportunity to connect with each of you face to face this year at the Annual NAFSA Conference. As we continue to practice social distancing and adapt to our new normal, we invite you to connect with us virtually. If you have any questions about your profile or want to revamp your current communication plan schedule your Zoom call with Ashley!
