PARTNER Newsletter

We’ve reached the new semester and we know that for each of our partners that looks very different. Some of you are online, others are in-person and the remainder are a hybrid. We also know that across the board you’ve been working hard to ensure the actions you do take this semester will be successful for students and your institution. As you’re settling in, we look forward to providing you with continued support in growing your international student population in the semesters ahead.

We hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter as it’s devoted to our esteemed partners like you. Until next month, stay well.

Our 15th Annual Travel Video Contest is Now Open

Since 2006, InternationalStudent.com has had the pleasure of hosting an annual Travel Video Contest, and this year we’re celebrating its 15th anniversary. We’ve updated the name to TVC: Life After Lockdown and for this year’s theme, we’re asking current, interrupted and future international students and cultural exchange participants to submit a two minute or less video discussing one or both of the following:

  • How COVID-19 has impacted their international education or cultural exchange experience abroad
  • Their ideal international education or cultural exchange after COVID-19

The contest is now open for submissions until October 13, 2020. Students and cultural exchange participants interested in entering can visit our website to find all of the contest details, including the full contest timeline, rules and regulations and instructions on how to enter.

Keeping Your Profile Updated During COVID-19

Has your school made special accommodations for current or prospective students during COVID-19? Some of our partners have added a COVID-19 update section to their profiles to highlight their accommodations and changes for students. If you would like to add a new section that highlights your efforts or update your current COVID-19 section on your profile, let us know and we’ll be happy to make those changes for you.

Welcome Aboard

Welcome aboard our newest partners, Lincoln University in Oakland, California and Nicholls State University in Louisiana! The InternationalStudent.com team extends a warm welcome and looks forward to assisting you both in meeting your recruitment goals.

Optimizing Your International Student Communication Plan

Having an international student communication plan in place is essential to keeping prospective students interested in your institution. We’ve created a new resource to help you optimize your plan through three of the most common digital communication methods: WhatsApp, email and social media. In this new resource you’ll receive clarity on these three core methods, and find our suggestions on how to effectively initiate communication and respond to students after they’ve expressed interest in your college or university.
