PARTNER Newsletter

As we have reached the month where many of us stop to reflect on everything and everyone we’re thankful for, we can’t help but think of you. We are thankful to be a part of the international education community and to have such leaders in the industry as our valued partners and colleagues. Despite a few extra curves being added along the path this year, we hope you also find your cup filled to the brim.

Boosting Facebook Posts to Increase Reach and Engagement

Have you ever wondered if “boosting” a Facebook post actually increases your reach and engagement? To get some answers we performed a test boost so you can dive deeper into some numbers on how well it works, and the results were incredible. Over a three day period before a boost our post reached 928 and received 15 organic engagements. After boosting for ten dollars over a period of five days, the post’s reach increased to 28,040 and 7,718 engagements. That’s a 2921.55% increase for reach and a 51353.3% increase for engagement.

When boosting a post, Facebook gives two options for the objective of the boost. One is ‘Post Engagements’ and the other is ‘Messages’. If you are looking to grow your social media following, post engagements is the option to go with. If you are interested in connecting directly with prospective students, messages are the way to go. It’s also a great idea to target your audience by location. For example, if you’re trying to increase the number of international students from Taiwan, consider targeting Taiwan. Want more tips? Establish an International Student Ambassador

When you are looking to make a genuine connection with prospective students, consider bringing on one of your current international students as an International Student Ambassador. At InternationalStudent.com, we have seen firsthand the value and positive response from prospective students when they are able to relate and connect with current international students. Not only can a student ambassador create a unique relationship with students who are in your pipeline, they can provide an insider perspective and feedback on your current communication plan!

Add On a Trigger Email to Promote a Program

Are you looking to promote a specific program for your institution? We’re happy to help you with that through our trigger email add-on. Trigger emails, also known as transactional emails, are messages that are automatically sent to subscribers based on a piece of information the subscriber provides to us. For example, if a student expresses interest in majoring in English, they could receive an email for an English program at your institution. The numbers don’t lie and when it comes to trigger emails, we see increased engagement regularly. In fact, trigger emails have 2-3 times greater engagement than average marketing/promotional emails. According to VanillaSoft, "Relevant emails sent to a subscriber based on their interests within 24 hours will result in higher engagement success:

  • One Hour: 38% Engagement Success
  • 24 Hours: 8% Engagement Success
  • 24 Hours: 5% Engagement Success"

Interested in adding a trigger email to your package? Set up a time to connect with us that’s convenient for you and let’s get started!
