Feeling Creative? Update Your Profile!

We’re excited to announce that our Featured School offering is now completely automated. Our tech team has been hard at work automating our Featured School sign up and implementation process, and it’s now complete. New schools can sign up, claim their school, customize their profile and pay, without ever calling or sending us an email.

What does this mean for you? You now have the ability to update your school’s profile without our help, and will soon be able to renew your existing agreements or upgrade your package all online. We are, after all, an online marketing company! Of course, we are always here for any questions, concerns or even a walk through of the new automated process.

If you haven’t tried the profile editor tool, log in and give it a try!

Tip of the Month

2017 has already brought about a lot of enhancements on InternationalStudent.com, including the roll out of our new Featured School profile editor. For this month’s tip we’re going to focus on how you can add photos to your Featured School profile to jazz it up!
  1. Log into your administrator account.
  2. Click on the “View Dashboard” icon on the left side of your screen.
  3. Under “My Schools,” click the small pencil icon on the right to edit your school profile directly.
  4. Below “Featured School Settings” click on our “Enhanced Editor” button to take you to the new profile editor!
  5. Here you will have a few different ways to add images to your profile:
    • If you scroll down the first option you will see is the “Gallery” button where you can add a gallery box to your profile.
    • Your second option is located beneath the “Social Media and Video Content” where you can directly link your Instagram or Flickr accounts to display images easily on your profile by using your Instagram username or Flickr ID.
    • Your final option for adding photos is to add a box with one photo and a text option under “Text/Photo” under the “Custom” heading.
By following these easy steps you’ll have more photos on your profile in no time!

Edit Images With These Tools

Photos are a great way to capture the eye and interest of a potential international student. One fun and simple way to make your photos stand out is to use a free photo editor! Using a photo editor is a great asset to create original photo content for your social media or school profile. Here are three companies that offer free photo creation:
  1. Canva - Regarded as one of the easiest to use and best social media image creation tools in the industry. Canva gives you the most free options without having to purchase a plan.
  2. Stencil - Also easy to use with similar options to Canva, but with only 10 image creations per month on the free plan.
  3. PicMonkey - Another good option to try out with their 7-day free trial.

How Yaruby Petit-Frere Chooses Images For Her Profile

Most international students will see your college or university for the first time when they arrive for orientation. Having pictures throughout your Featured School profile and school’s website are important to help international students visualize what their life could be like at your institution. Having a variety of high quality photos can help students decide to choose your school. Our client tip of the month comes from Yaruby Petit-Frere at Felician University who tells us how she chooses pictures.

“When Felician University chooses pictures for our website or online profiles, we try to ensure that the photos represent our great diverse community and demonstrate our engaging student life activities and attractive campus. We believe that students want to see a campus environment that is welcoming to their culture, multi-cultural, and conducive to learning.”
