The annual NAFSA conference is approaching soon and we couldn’t be more excited. If attending, we hope to connect with you over a cup of coffee - even if miles apart. In the meantime, there is plenty happening this month that we’re pleased to share with you. We have added a couple of resources for your students including a live event on important loan facts, and information on mental health in honor of Mental Health Awareness month. We have also created an article just for you to provide guidance and tips around nurturing your leads; plus, our free trial is back!

We hope you enjoy the newsletter, we look to reaching your inbox next month.

Sincerely,
Bryanna Davis

Strategies for Nurturing Your Leads

Lead nurturing is a process that can be described as creating and maintaining relationships with prospective students throughout your marketing pipeline. You have the leads. But are you taking the time to adequately nurture your leads? In our latest article for international educators and administrators, we’ve broken down the lead nurturing process by offering six of our tips for turning your leads into enrollments.

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and here at InternationalStudent.com we think it’s important to make mental health a priority and to equip students with information on the topic. COVID-19 has led to an increase in emotional and psychological challenges worldwide according to a recent survey by the Statista Research Department. We certainly hope that through everything you and your students are taking steps to make your mental health a priority. We’ve compiled a list of mental health resources on the International Student blog which we encourage you to read and share with your students this Mental Health Awareness Month. If you’re attending the annual NAFSA conference next month, make sure you also join the ISI session around Exploring the Emotional Wellness of International Students During COVID-19 for further information on this topic.

International Student Loan Information Session

We receive a lot of questions from current and prospective international students each day, and one of the many topics that often comes up is financial aid. Our scholarship search serves as an important tool, and for students who need additional aid beyond scholarships, our loan search tool is also frequently explored. As part of providing students with access to these tools, we also find it important to ensure students know facts around the aid they’re participating in.

On June 17th at 11:00AM EDT, we’re hosting a live International Student Loan Info Session to help your students understand the process of taking out a student loan. Your students can join us as InternationalStudent.com host, Connor Blay, and Manager of Business Development at MPOWER Financing, Arbaaz Hashmy, will discuss core information around loans and answer any questions that students have directly.

Interestingly Enough...

Comfortable shoes and the annual NAFSA conference usually go together like peanut butter and jelly. However, with the conference moving to virtual this year those shoes might not log as many miles. We all know that between a packed schedule of meetings and sessions, a short walk can be a nice refresher. Looking for an idea to keep moving during the conference this year and feel more connected with colleagues through the distance? Try an office walking or standing challenge! Share how you encouraged this collaboration at your school so we can spark ideas at other institutions during future virtual conferences.
