See you at the FAIE Conference!

Next month we will be attending the FAIE conference in Orlando, Florida. We couldn’t be more excited to once again have the opportunity to step away from our computers and have an in-person conversation with fellow colleagues in our industry.

We will also be presenting on Reaching and Communicating with Students in an Impactful Way on Social Media. If you’re interested in this topic we hope to see you there.

If you're attending FAIE please feel free to drop by our presentation or send us a message so we can connect over a cup of coffee.

Improve Your Social Strategy in 2022

It’s a new year and many students are considering studying at US colleges and universities. Social media will play a role in the research that many students do to get more information on what campus life is like for international students at their prospective school. If improving on your social media practices (or getting started) is on your check list this year, our article on using social media in your recruitment process might help!

Administrator Question: Email Communications

Q: We are currently updating our email communication plan, what touch points are students most receptive to when conducting an email lead nurturing campaign?

A: When building out your communication plan there’s never a one size fits all solution. We recommend testing and tracking to find the best performing solution for you. However, there are a few key emails that we do suggest including in your plan as you keep in contact with prospective students through your lead nurturing efforts:

  1. Top Programs
  2. School Statistics
  3. Student Testimonials
  4. Locale Information
  5. Student Support

Request our email communication guide to assist you further on this topic. If you have a marketing or recruitment question that you would like to ask us, send it our way!

Helping Students Find Work

International students often struggle with finding work while they study in the US. However, as you know, there are a few different ways that students can work part-time and maintain their visa status. To help pass along this information to students in a digestible way, we’ve outlined how to get part-time work both on-campus and off-campus as an international student. We also have a Student Job Search tool for students who are on the hunt for internship and job opportunities. This tool uses the student’s location to present local job listings. Students can then easily apply for available positions on company websites. Please feel free to share this information and tool with any students who may benefit from it.

A Sight [rest] for Sore Eyes

Computers and smart gadgets have made a world of difference when it comes to communicating with students and colleagues around the globe. However, after countless hours of staring at our screens, our eyes can become strained, dry, tired and itchy. Although not a new practice, it’s possibly one that’s gained more visibility during Covid after increased screen time: yogic eye exercises. In yogic eye exercises, also known as eye yoga, you won’t find a single downward dog or warrior pose, instead - it’s all about the eyes. Although it’s not been proven to help eye conditions or sight, it certainly can provide relief after a long day of screen time!
