September is here and as always, it’s a month full of excitement. Back to school and preparation for NAFSA regionals are just two highlights at the top of the list. We have a few resources to help you make this time of year a success, and we hope they serve you well as the fall semester gets underway. As a reminder - we love to connect with leaders like you in the industry, make sure to reach out about NAFSA regionals or to share your ideas for IEW.

Enjoy the newsletter, and see you next month!

Let's Connect!

Are you heading to a NAFSA regional this year? Reach out and let us know which one! We’re excited to have the opportunity to once again connect with many of you in person - and we hope to see you at a regional to connect over coffee. Send us a note so we can schedule time to meet at the conference or prior. We hope to see you all soon!

Have a Scholarship you Want to Share?

Sharing your scholarships can be a great way to get in front of students from around the world. If you have a scholarship for international or study abroad students - you can add it to our scholarship search. Our scholarship search tool is free for administrators to post their awards on, and free for students to search. Simply login then submit your award for approval.

Videos for Your Students

As the new semester is here, we’re sure you’re gathering all of the resources you can to help students with their fresh batch of questions. If you haven’t already explored our various helpful videos, you can do so right from our YouTube channel! There students can find tips around writing essays, making friends, the visa interview process and more. Check out our channel and pass it along to your students for guidance.

Personalization in Email

Time and time again, email has proven to be a terrific way to get a message out. However, it is certainly not perfect; as emails can land in spam filters, get buried behind a weekend of busy marketing messages, or could simply be ignored. Perhaps the single most effective way to get a user's attention in their inbox is to be human and address them by their first name in the subject line. Using personalization in an email can increase the chance of it being opened by as much as 50%! If you’re looking for a small change that can have a big impact in your email communications — use their name.

Interestingly Enough

International Education week (IEW) 2022 will be here before we know it. What do you have planned? Send us details around an event or initiative during IEW so we can share it in our next newsletter to inspire others. We look forward to seeing how each of you will celebrate the benefits of international education from November 14 - 18th.
