Reminder: Let's Connect!

As a reminder: If you’re heading to a NAFSA regional this year, reach out and let us know which one! We’re excited to have the opportunity to once again connect with many of you in person – and we hope to see you at a regional event to connect over coffee. Send us a note so we can schedule time to meet at the conference or prior. We hope to see you all soon!

IEW is Coming Soon – Share the Excitement

International Education Week (IEW) will be here very soon: November 14-18! This is a week for those within the world of international education and exchange to come together and celebrate. Share with us what’s happening on your campus, within your office, or at your organization – and we will pass it along to others in our community to spark ideas for implementation. We look forward to seeing not only what you’re doing (both large and small), but also to passing along your great ideas.

Do you Communicate with your Leads?

If not, now is the perfect time to explore a plan to do so. Whether you have a featured profile or a free profile on InternationalStudent.com, you have the ability to contact the students that express interest in your college or university. Developing a lead nurturing communication plan can initially be a challenge, but it can also be very rewarding in the end. To help you get started in the process, check out these strategies for getting a plan in place.

Economical Flights for Students

As winter break approaches, just a reminder that students can find discounted flights in our travel center. The airfare search is available to help your students find economical international and domestic flights. Plus, when students create a free account on InternationalStudent.com, they’ll gain access to a discount code on first time flight purchases from the search. If you have students who are watching their budget while they travel during break, this may be helpful!

Time to Travel Smart

As travel continues to pick up, it’s more important than ever to travel smart. When it comes to travel tips, who is better suited to share their advice than experts in the field of international education? Send us a note and share your best travel tip – or even better, send us a travel tip from one of your students!

Here are a couple of tips that we've heard along the way, just to get you started:

  • Don’t forget to pack a scarf. On long flights, it can also double as a blanket or a pillow. If you have a long layover or delayed flight, it can help you through the journey.
  • Consider picking a middle seat if you know your flight won’t be fully booked. This can often lead to an empty seat next to you since travelers will aim to have a seat without someone already sitting next to them.
