Federal Tax Return Deadline: May 17th
As you’ve already heard, the federal deadline
to file tax returns in the US has changed to May 17th. While
this gives your students some extra time to complete their
required documents (like Form 8843), we recommend that they get
started as soon as they can. Our Form 8843 Wizard can help them
complete this form after they’ve provided the necessary tax
information; and in addition to our wizard, students can find
resources like step-by-step instructions on how to file, student
tax FAQs, tax preparation videos and information on a tax
preparation service. If your students can benefit from these
resources, feel free to share our student tax section or our
upcoming live event link. During our live event students can ask
a Sprintax tax expert any question they may have about
filing.

Webinar: Developing Culture While Students Learn Online
Over the past 12 months, the transition from
traditional in-person learning to online learning has rapidly
become an essential part of the higher education landscape.
While an online learning option is a viable solution in response
to COVID restrictions, there is no doubt that one of one of the
biggest challenges is the absence of physical interaction.
During this webinar, we will discuss how the shift from
traditional to online learning can impact an international
student’s cultural experience and dive into ways you can keep
students engaged and interacting with each other in a virtual
learning environment. Sign up and join us on May 19th at 11am
EDT!

Information for Students:
Understanding the US Dollar and Banking System
While international students often have a basic
understanding of US currency and the monetary system, it can
sometimes be tricky to understand all of the ins-and-outs in a
new system. But if one thing is for certain about life in the
US, it’s that money matters and students will want to take time
to learn how the system works. Not only do we have a page that
explains US currency, defines common banking terms and even
dives into building credit so that students can gain more
insight into how to handle their finances, but we also recently
hosted a live event on the topic. Feel free to share this
resource with them or have them watch our video if they missed
it live!

Social Media Tip: Have Students Help Run Your Social
Have you considered giving a trusted student
temporary control of your institution’s social media? Doing so
could increase your institution’s reach. We recommend seeking
out international student influencers at your school who have
already established a sizable following on social media to run
your account for a few days. These students will already have a
background in content creation and will be able to reach their
follower base. Plus, having a student run your account will give
prospective students a first-hand look at what it’s like to be a
student at your institution. Find a student, establish their guidelines
and goals, then give it a try!

Exporting Names & Addresses
At InternationalStudent.com, it is our goal to
continuously improve the services we provide while making your
recruitment process as easy as possible. If you are the current
administrator of a profile, when you export your leads to a .CSV
file you will notice that the first name and last name of your
leads are now in separate columns. Additionally, each component
of their address will be broken down by column for an easier
upload into your CRM.
Whether you are a featured client or an approved free profile
user, you have the ability to export your leads into a .CSV
file. You can either export the entire list or filter based upon
a specific time period. Simply follow the steps below to get
started:
-
Login
to your InternationalStudent.com admin account. If you do
not already have an account you can register
now to access your free leads
- Click ‘View Dashboard’
- Click the envelope on the right hand side
- At the bottom you can select the date range of leads you
would like to export
- Select download leads
- Click ‘Search’
- Your leads will automatically download as a .CSV file
If you have any questions on this process or
claiming your profile please let us
know.

for a unique way to celebrate this month and enjoy planet Earth
while connecting with others across the globe, check this out!
The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is an international effort of
people finding and documenting plants and wildlife in cities
around the world. The CNC started in 2016 and is run by the
Community Science teams at the California Academy of Sciences
and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Already
have a trash pick-up or tree planting day planned for Earth Day?
The best part is that this collaboration starts April 30th
