The Human Interaction Project's Giving Back Program

As of December 30th, the Human Interaction Project (H.I.P.) is accepting applications for its Giving Back Program. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. The mission of the Human Interaction Project is to create intrepid, bold and safe environments where people can connect with each other, face to face; to inspire in people the notion that the healing power of human connection is where real change happens; and to create leaders who can help shape their generation from a place of non-judgment, hope and fearlessness. The Giving Back Program The Giving Back Program is the first project of H.I.P. and is rooted in the belief that travel facilitates individual, local and global change. Thus, eligible applicants will be given a travel experience in partnership with the international volunteering and learning organization, UBELONG. The Giving Back Program will cover airfare, housing, UBELONG program fees, medical insurance and some incidentals. Each student will be able to award a gift of up to $2,500 to an individual or organization that they encounter on his or her journey. Scholarship participants will receive training in leadership and philanthropy so that they can make the most of their travel and philanthropic experiences. Upon returning, students will be expected to share stories as well as lessons learned from their journey via blogging, videos and speeches.
