About Felician University

Felician University is an independent, private Catholic/Franciscan University founded and sponsored by the Felician Sisters to educate a diverse population of students within the framework of a liberal arts tradition. Felician University is a small, private, liberal arts institution with campuses located 10 miles outside of New York City in Rutherford and Lodi, New Jersey. Founded as a Catholic institution, Felician provides international students with the academic, moral and spiritual foundation necessary for personal fulfillment and professional success. Felician offers over 55 undergraduate and graduate programs, including business, nursing, teacher education and the arts and sciences. At Felician, students have access to a wide array of cultural and professional experiences enhancing an already rich campus life.

Felician University is a global institution, with students from 34 nations attending our undergraduate and graduate programs. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) Academy provides pathways for students to access levels of education, comprehensive year round international language instruction and cultural immersion. Our U.N. Fellows program allows students to gain unprecedented access to attend U.N. conferences and meet diplomats and ambassadors from around the world.

Felician University awards academic scholarships to our international undergraduate and transfer students based on a holistic review of all the student’s qualifications, including grades, standardized test scores, extra-curricular activities, and their overall potential to succeed. Students are automatically considered for a scholarship upon applying without submitting an additional application.

Application Requirements

To apply to a Felician undergraduate program, you will need to submit the following: A completed online application form Official copies of all secondary school transcripts in English Official TOEFL, IELTS or PTE English Score A personal statement For the I-20 1) a bank statement indicating funds for one year of study 2) a completed Financial Affidavit of Support and 3) a copy of the passport information page Optional: SAT/ACT scores. These tests are not required, but must be submitted to qualify for higher scholarship awards.

To apply as a transfer student, from another college or university program, you will need to submit the following: A completed online application form Official copies of all secondary school and university transcripts in English Official TOEFL, IELTS or PTE English Scores For the I-20 1) a bank statement indicating funds for one year of study 2) a completed Financial Affidavit of Support and 3) a copy of the passport information page If admitted, a credential evaluation of all foreign post-secondary school transcripts is required to be evaluated for transfer credits. The evaluation can be submitted after a student is admitted, but before arrival on campus. We accept any service who is a member of NACES. (www.naces.org)

To apply as a graduate student, you must submit the following: A completed online application form, at http://www.felician.edu/international A $40 application fee (non-refundable) Official copies of all university transcripts in English A credential evaluation for all foreign university transcripts from any service who is a member of NACES. (www.naces.org) TOEFL or IELTS score GMAT/GRE score report, if required by your program of study. A personal statement, resume, and/or letters of recommendation. For the I-20, 1) a bank statement indicating funds for one year of study, 2) a completed Financial Affidavit of Support, and 3) a copy of the passport information page.

English as a Second Language Program

English as a Second Language Academic Bridge Program

Felician University allows qualified students who have not met the English language proficiency requirements for an undergraduate or graduate degree program to enter the University'sESL Academic Bridge Program. Applicants must apply simultaneously to both the ESL Bridge Program and the academic program of their choice, and be officially admitted into both programs.

Entry into the ESL Academic Bridge Program provides students with conditional admission to a Felician undergraduate or graduate degree program.

Upon successful completion of the Bridge Program, students may seamlessly begin study in their Felician undergraduate or graduate degree program. In some cases, students may begin their undergraduate or graduate coursework while pursuing English language study and the courses and credits count towards the degree program.

To apply to our ESL Bridge Program, please submit the following: A completed application form A non-refundable $30 application fee A copy of your passport information page For the I-20, 1) a bank statement indicating funds for one year of study and, 2) a completed Financial Affidavit of Support

This generous scholarship is applied to tuition and fees for each year of undergraduate and graduate study and is awarded based on merit at the time of acceptance into the ESL Academic Bridge Program.
