Clark EgnorClark Egnor is the Executive Director of the Center for International Programs at Marshall University.  As chief international officer at Marshall, Egnor oversees the university’s study abroad and exchange programs around the world, the International Students & Scholars Office which serves over 500 international students, the International Admissions Office, the L.E.A.P. Intensive English Program, and various grant projects. Egnor has an Ed.D. and MA from West Virginia University in Educational Administration and Foreign Languages respectively and a B.S. in Journalism from Boston University. He is the 2005 Cyrus R. Vance Award winner for International Education in West Virginia, past president of West Virginia Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (WVTESOL), a Commissioner for the West Virginia Governor's Commission on International Education and Chair of the Chancellor’s Council for Internationalizing Higher Education in West Virginia.  Egnor also serves as the NAFSA State Whip for West Virginia

 

Cheryl Darrup-BoychuckCheryl Darrup-Boychuck runs a family of 17 multi-lingual domains, all designed to help international students study in the USA. The mother site, USjournal.com, has been making academic dreams come true since 1996. Cheryl's own dream to study abroad came true in the late '80s at the University of Melbourne. In the early '90s, she worked at the Port of Charleston (South Carolina), promoting the import and export of physical cargo. Cheryl jumped at the opportunity to promote the exchange of "intellectual cargo" around the world. She now volunteers as Network Leader for NAFSA: Association of International Educators' Marketing and Recruiting Network within their Recruitment, Admissions, and Preparation Knowledge Community. She regularly presents sessions at professional development conferences globally, focusing on eRecruitment trends and measuring Return on Investment in this dynamic industry. MarkusMarkus Laitinen has been involved in international education for 17 years, currently serving as the Head of International Affairs for the University of Helsinki. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic planning and coordination of international affairs, and he participates in the development of the university’s main strategic documents. Markus is also the secretary for the International Committee, and is the University’s liaison towards European education networks (LERU, Utrecht, UNICA and Europaeum). He is very active in international education, including as a board member for several international education groups and a project manager for the Finnish Universities Rectors’ Council. Markus speaks five languages and has a Masters in Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki.

 

JimJim Crawley has 17 years of experience in university admissions, 13 of which have been spent in international recruitment. For many of those years, he worked closely with international students at Grand Valley State University as Director of International Student Services. Currently, Jim is putting his international education experience to work for ELS. He has traveled to over 25 countries and is an avid amateur photographer.  He has also reviewed films at a high school film festival.  Jim is the moderator of the “Ask a U.S. Advisor” forum on InternationalStudent.com, and he is pleased to be one of the judges of this year's contest.
