A Step Closer to Dream

Travel means knowledge to me. I grew up in a mountainous village in Tibet, where we had no fundamental facilities such as electricity, schools, and hospitals. I was a yak herder on mountains that are 15,000 feet above sea level. At age of 9 a serious illness brought me to the closest Chinese city, which took more than 5 days in a truck. The city was mind blowing with things that I never seen or heard before. We looked for a hospital for more than 15 days in the city, because we were illiterates and we did not speak a single word of Chinese. All the struggles and discrimination without an education during a year in city inspired me to get an education.
