Felician is an independent co-educational Catholic/Franciscan College founded and sponsored by the Felician Sisters to educate a diverse population of students within the framework of a liberal arts tradition. Our mission is to provide a full complement of learning experiences, reinforced with strong academic and student development programs designed to bring students to their highest potential and prepare them to meet the challenges of the new century with informed minds and understanding hearts. The enduring purpose of Felician College is to promote a love for learning, a desire for God, self knowledge, service to others, and respect for all creation.
Located in Northern New Jersey - a 20 minute train ride to New York City – Felician College campuses are nestled in the quiet and safe towns of Lodi and Rutherford. International students have easy access to all the culture, art, and entertainment New York has to offer. Felician is also located near three major international airports and is within four hours of Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
At Felician, you are never just a number. Classes average about 15 students, which allows for one-on-one attention from the professors. If you ever need help, our professors are always approachable and are there to help guide you to succeed.
Felician College offers a comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program called the American Culture and English Studies (ACES) program. This program is designed to prepare students to enroll in a degree program, enter a competitive job market, or simply improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. This year round intensive language and cultural immersion program challenges students to progress quickly by studying for 23 hours a week. The Intensive English Program offers five, 12 week levels from beginner to college bridge. Non F-1 students may also choose to study our Intensive English Program part time, if your schedule does not permit the full course of study.
Successful completion of Felician's ACES program (including passing an internally administered proficiency test) will allow students to enter our degree programs without taking the TOEFL or IELTS. Students who have not taken the TOEFL/IELTS or with low scores can be admitted to a degree program with this conditionally admit status.
Felician College also offers the opportunity for advanced ESL students to participate in college-level classes on an audit basis for an additional cost. These classes are not taken for credit, but for the challenge and experience of participating as a member of a true college level course. Students can audit classes in almost any subject including art, history, computer science, music, philosophy, sociology, global peace and justice, political science, communications, and more.
