Denica Kelly is a Counselor in the International Student Programs (ISP) Office at De Anza College. She holds an M.S. in Counseling and Guidance, with an emphasis for College Student Personnel, from California Lutheran University. In her current position, she provides international students with comprehensive academic, career, and personal counseling services. She also works with the rest of the ISP team and other departments across campus to implement orientation and other focused services and programming. Denica has also worked with international students in several areas including housing, admissions and recruitment, English as a Second Language programs, and F1 advising. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family and cat Founded in 1967, De Anza College is located in Cupertino, California, near Apple Inc. The campus offers a lively atmosphere along with many unique facilities such as the Cheeseman Environmental Studies Center, Euphrat Museum of Art, television, animation, and film studios, athletic facilities, the Fujitsu planetarium, and much more. De Anza is also well known for social action and student and community engagement through such unique initiatives as the Vasconcellos Institute for Democracy in Action (VIDA). Student enrollment is around 24,000 students and enrollment of international students is around 2,000 students. The ISP Office is the primary office on campus that serves the needs of De Anza's international (F1 Visa) student population. The ISP team provides support through its orientation program for all new international students that covers a wide range of topics including placement tests, health issues, personal safety, banking and transportation. ISP also conducts numerous workshops and events throughout the academic year on a broad range of topics based on student needs and interests. Furthermore, the office organizes a selection of social, cultural and recreational programs and activities to help familiarize international students with life in the Bay Area and the United States.
