Patricia Trent from Longwood University
Patricia Trent, a leader in the comprehensive internationalization plan at Longwood University, directs international admissions and recruitment and provides international student advising for a growing international population. From serving as a host sister to international high school students, obtaining degrees in international studies and counseling, studying abroad at the high school and college level, to admitting and advising international students at Longwood, Patricia has been committed to furthering international understanding and cross-cultural communication for many years. Patricia believes the best part of her job is meeting and mentoring students from the time of application until graduation.
Longwood University is one of Virginia’s oldest public schools. Ranked in US News and World Report, and The Princeton Review, and mentioned in USA Today, and Forbes, Longwood is home to approximately 5,000 students. Longwood successfully graduates students who are well prepared for careers or graduate school. Students at Longwood University can choose a degree in Business, the Sciences, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical professions, Nursing, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Music, Education, and many more. Internships or faculty-directed research are required for every degree; career preparation is a major emphasis- and they also award transfer credit for IB exams. In addition, Longwood has its own English as a Second Language (ESL) program and offers conditional undergraduate admission. International students are supported by staff in the Office of International Affairs and by student leaders in our Global Leaders program. Offering a classic American university and small town experience, Longwood is located on the east coast of the USA, in central Virginia.
