Stacye Thompson is the Coordinator for International Student Services at Jefferson State Community College. She has worked in International Education for over 20 years in immigration, admissions, and programming. Her primary goal has been in ensuring that international students make a successful transition to the U.S. and in developing Global Engagement in the State of Alabama. Stacye has traveled to over 13 countries and loves to engage with people from all over the world. For over fifty years Jefferson State Community College has been teaching students in the greater Birmingham, Alabama area. Jefferson State serves approximately 15,000 students each year and is one of the largest community colleges in the state of Alabama. They currently offer more than 120 university transfer programs, 33 career programs and numerous certificate programs.
