The College of Central Florida does not require a Test of English as a Foreign Language, SAT or ACT, TOEFL, for admission. However, students take a placement test to access the proficiency of their English and mathematics skills. Student test results that reflect adequate skills will be eligible for college-level, degree course work. Those who do not meet the required placement test score will be required to take ESL classes until the student has met the language requirements.
At CF, the English as a second language for Academic purposes courses are designed to prepare a non-native English speaker to have success in a degree program of their choice.

The CF community is very welcoming towards international students; they currently have students enrolled from 40 countries all over the world. The top three countries represented are Japan, Vietnam and Brazil. At CF, the office of international student services provides valuable services and information to international applicants, along with resources for international students to ease their transition to learning in a new environment. The office provides F-1 Visa application assistance, academic advising, immigration advising, admissions advising, international student orientation, a variety of international student clubs, employment opportunities and assistance for F-1 students, international student housing, airport shuttle services, and services involved with changing visa status to F-1 student Visa.
CF’s 150-acre campus is in sunny Ocala, FL, within driving distance of internationally sought-after destinations such as Disney World, Universal Studios, and the JFK space center, along with beautiful beaches, swamps, springs, and all kinds of iconic Florida nature and wildlife. The climate is tropical, with hot, humid summers, and mildly cold winters. Many people in Ocala like to ride their bikes to get around; the CF campus is peppered with bike racks. Others choose to use the Ocala city bus system, which offers a reduced fare to CF students. Right next to the campus there is student housing, which features common areas, swimming pools, computer labs, game rooms, and more.
CF offers more than 140 different academic pathways in a wide range of disciplines. Each pathway is customized to fit a student’s unique needs and career choices. The school offers a number of degrees in Arts and Humanities, in Business, Industry, Manufacturing and Construction, in Communication, in Education, in Health Sciences, in Social/Behavioral Science and Human Services and Public Service, and STEM.
