Living in St.Louis

Just steps away from SLU, the Grand Center arts district of St. Louis is home to theaters, museums, restaurants and more. Here, you can watch a touring Broadway musical, listen to the world-class St. Louis Symphony Orchestra or enjoy a contemporary art exhibit.

Known as the “Gateway City,” St. Louis is rich in American history, symbolized by the giant stainless steel Gateway Arch, standing 192 meters high on the banks of the Mississippi River.

St. Louis claims a number of significant cultural gems, including the world famous Gateway Arch; Forest Park, which is larger than New York City’s Central Park and contains the city’s free zoo, art museum, science center and history museum; and City Museum, which combines art and fun through recycled architecture.

Campus Life

Campus Faith

Regardless of your religious identity, you're encouraged to nurture your faith while attending SLU. Organized networks of campus ministries and houses of worship are easily accessible to all students. Service-learning initiatives are frequently hosted on campus. You will have the opportunity to participate, learn and engage to enhance your personal and social responsibility.

Campus Safety

SLU's campus is very safe and has its own full-service law enforcement agency on campus. Rave Messenger is SLU’s emergency notification system used to send messages about school closings and timely safety warnings to the university community via text, email and telephone call.

We have staff who can help ease your transition to the US. Whether you need to speak to someone in your native language, get a driver’s license or find a doctor, you can visit the INTO SLU front desk and we will help you.
