Greetings! Welcome to HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College! For more than 50 years, HACC has provided an accessible and affordable higher educational opportunity. As Pennsylvania's first and largest community college, we are proud that more than 20,000 students are enrolled at one of our five beautiful campuses or taking classes online.

1. How many international students attend HACC?
There are currently 197 total international students attending HACC.
2. How many different countries are represented at HACC?
Approximately 58 different countries are represented.
3. What kind of services do you have for international students?
Assistance with immigration processes, including paperwork
Help with finding housing
Other non-academic matters
4. Is there an international student club?
The International Awareness Club (IAC) consists of students from all over the globe. IAC also consists of American students. The purpose of the IAC is to improve cultural awareness. We hold bi-weekly meetings.
5. What is HACC's total enrollment?
HACC enrolls a total of 23,000 full-time and part-time students.
6. Does HACC offer on-campus housing?
HACC does not provide on-campus housing. Assistance is available to International Students who are looking for housing.
7. What is the climate like?
The climate is moderate with four seasons —spring, summer, winter and fall. Temperatures range from 30 degrees Celsius in the summer to negative five degrees Celsius in the winter.
8. When is the application deadline?
Apply by the date listed below for your semester:
Fall Semester (August Start Date) —Apply by June 1
Spring Semester (January Start Date) —Apply by Oct. 1
Summer Semester (May Start Date) —Apply by March 1
We recommend you submit your application materials by the deadline listed above. This will give you enough time to complete the enrollment process and register for classes.
You must submit your application and supporting documents at least four weeks before the start of classes.
9. Is the TOEFL exam required for admission into the ESL program?
We do not require a TOEFL score if you are taking ESL classes. The exam is required if you are starting standard college-level courses instead. To be accepted into college-level courses, your TOEFL score must be at least 550 for the written exam. Computerized exam scores may differ.

Are you a future student and ready to apply to HACC?
By applying to HACC, you have the opportunity to apply for a full-ride scholarship! HACC will fund two years of your education – enough to complete your associate degree.
Thanks to the support of the HACC Foundation, the College is able to offer FREE money to support future students, like you, in reaching your educational goals. Six full-ride scholarships are available – one from each of the five campuses and one through HACC’s Virtual Learning Program.
Please note that current students are not eligible for the full-ride scholarships. However, there are more than 250 scholarships available for current students.
Beata is a pre-nursing student from Romania. She discovered the HACC York Campus while she was visiting Central Pennsylvania on vacation. She decided to apply to the nursing program at HACC. When she graduates, she will be more marketable as a nurse in Romania.

Han is a student from Vietnam studying the field of Business Administration . She attends HACC's Gettysburg Campus. She plans to transfer to a four-year university in the Pennsylvania or New York area to complete her Bachelor's Degree after completing her general education requirements at HACC.
Karen is a Business Studies student from Jamaica at the HACC Lebanon Campus. She has found leadership opportunities at HACC. She is currently the Secretary of the Student Government Association and the co-liaison for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She received the Campus Services Student Award in May 2011. Karen plans to transfer to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Business after graduating from HACC.
