Students whose native language is not English can satisfy the English language proficiency requirement by one of the following means:

  • TOEFL iBT: 32
  • IELTS: 4.5 overall band score
  • Duolingo: 65.
  • SAT and ACT can be used to satisfy the English language requirement, but are not required for admission. Students who score 24 on Reading and 25 on Writing on SAT or 19 on Reading and 17 on Writing in ACT satisfy the English language requirement.

Student Life & Support Services

Student Life is committed to creating and supporting opportunities for involvement, leadership, and service on campus and in the community. SF has a Student Health Care Center, Fitness Center, and Reflection Space open to all currently enrolled students. Student Life also has calculators for students to rent and maintains a Food Pantry open to the SF community. The LGBTQ + Resource Center on SF’s Northwest Campus provides a welcoming space for all LGBTQ+ students. Additionally, there are many ways to get involved on campus, including with Student Government or by joining a Student Club or Organization. With more than 50 clubs to choose from, including the International Student Culture Association, joining a student organization is a great way to become more involved at the College and make friends along the way!

SF has a proud athletic tradition with five intercollegiate athletic teams, offering basketball and baseball for men and basketball, softball, and volleyball for women. Students also have a variety of opportunities to get involved with intramural sports in flag football, basketball, soccer, and more!

International Student Support & Advising supports international students as they transition to Santa Fe College, connects them with the local community, and keeps them on track through graduation. ISSA offers workshops every semester on Health Insurance in the United States, Transferring from SF to a University, Resumé Building and Job Applications, and Mastering Canvas and Online Courses, and more!

Transfer Tracks

UF ELI Program

Santa Fe College has partnered with The University of Florida English Language Institute (UF ELI) to create a pathway for F-1 students allowing them to start at UF ELI for a semester or two and then transfer to SF for their A.A. degree (Students who complete Level 40 or higher in all sections at the UF ELI do not need to take TOEFL or IELTS to demonstrate English language proficiency). After earning an A.A. degree students can transfer back to The University of Florida to earn their bachelor's degree. UF ELI offers intensive English programs that prepare students for using English in the real world. With more than 60 years of experience teaching English to international students at the University of Florida, faculty and staff are committed to excellence in providing quality service and education.

2+2 Program

Santa Fe College is an excellent choice for students who want to earn their A.A. degree at SF and then transfer to a Florida public college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree. SF offers small class sizes, lower cost of tuition than universities, and guaranteed transfer to bachelor programs at Florida public colleges and universities.

Student Ambassador Program

The Diplomat Program

The Diplomat Program is a leadership opportunity based out of the SF International Center and is open only to international students in F-1 status. Each year, International Student Services hires two Diplomats to work part-time in the department, develop promotional materials, help manage ISS social media efforts, and assist in the preparation of events such as the New International Student Orientation program and the International Center Workshop Series.
