On-Campus Residence Hall I

From high-speed, wireless Internet access to a fitness facility and games room, the 90,000-square-foot luxury Residence Hall, on the Florida Polytechnic University campus, is designed with the modern student in mind.

Comfortable, secure and fully furnished, the three- and four-bedroom suites have the latest technology and accommodations to facilitate learning and achievement beyond the classroom.

There are two bathrooms per four-person suite. Each resident bedroom is tastefully furnished with a full-size bed, desk and amenities. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, and the common living area has a big-screen TV.

There are common areas for studying and socializing. Each suite comes with its own washer and dryer to make chores hassle-free. There is no need to deal with a coin-operated laundry.

On-Campus Residence Hall II

Similar to Residence Hall I, the new residence hall boasts high-speed, wireless Internet access, game rooms and common study areas on all five floors of the 135,000-square-foot building.

The majority of Residence Hall II is made up of “Semi Suites,” two double bedrooms furnished with two twin beds, a desk and chair, sharing a common bathroom.

It was designed with a more traditional residence hall feel and boasts twice as much communal space as Residence Hall I, encouraging students to leave their rooms and create their own social hub.

Residence Hall II also has the added advantage of Vestcor Living-Learning Communities, created in partnership with the University.

Electronic access and security cameras enhance safety for residents.

Student Services

At Florida Polytechnic University, we realize that not all learning takes place in the classroom.
We are a tightly knit community of educators, students and support staff. It is easy to get to know and become part of the Florida Poly campus community. Within a short time, staff, faculty and fellow students will know and welcome you by name.

As a member of Florida Poly’s inaugural class, you’re an integral part of shaping Florida Poly’s culture and traditions for years to come.

Groundbreaking ideas and an innovative spirit are not only welcome in the classroom, but also are qualities that will make student life and your overall University experience stand apart – both in your memories and on your resume.

Every student who joins Florida Poly’s inaugural class is a leader with the opportunity to create, organize and manage the University’s first clubs, student organizations and intra-mural activities.
The Office of Student Affairs is the voice and advocate for all students at Florida Poly. Student Affairs oversees activities related to student life on campus, including residential living, student activities and programming, leadership, multicultural outreach, counseling and health services.

Innovation Labs

The Innovation Labs support our mission of preparing 21st century learners in advanced fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). We develop innovative problem-solvers and high-tech professionals through interdisciplinary teaching, leading-edge research and creative use of applied curriculum and market-driven advanced technology programs. The labs include:

Supercomputing Lab

The Supercomputing Lab offers a high-performance, high-speed and high-capacity IBM processor that is a five-rack complex, similar to the Watson supercomputer. The supercomputer has the ability to process huge amounts of data and solve highly complex math problems in nanoseconds, making it useful for Advanced Technology majors who are focusing their studies on Big Data Analytics. This environment serves students, faculty and researchers. It promotes technology partnerships in education, exploration and career development.

Cyber Gaming & Digital Media Lab

Explore the technologies and techniques of social media, mass media, digital media, gaming and simulation using interdisciplinary tools, media techniques, development processes and applications. The lab will integrate with the Visualization and Technology Collaboration Robotics Lab in the areas of robotics, voice recognition, wearable computing, and related topics.

Rapid Application Development (RAD) Makerspace Lab

The RAD Makerspace Lab is an interdisciplinary environment with 3D printing hardware, digital object scanners, AutoCAD software and RAD technology for software development. This lab combines core engineering, computer engineering, and computer science fields of study with advanced prototyping and adaptive manufacturing technology and techniques.

Visualization and Technology Collaboration (VTC) Robotics Lab

Comprised of two discrete facilities but sharing a combined vision, this lab focuses on information mapping, data digestion, robotics and visualization techniques that support the innovative application of smart visual and user interface technologies. It includes robotics in the area of engineering and information technology and the theory behind automation and remote management of devices.

Cyber Security Lab

An isolated network environment that comprises servers, transport facilities and end-user workstations to replicate and simulate real-world cyber security threats and hacker techniques. The intent is to teach the theory behind complex cyber hacks, develop an understanding of the technology and vulnerabilities across the information technology systems and then devise counter-measures and incident response tactics.

At Florida Polytechnic University, our commitment to industry partnerships provides a significant advantage for students, faculty and companies. Florida Poly collaborates with industry leaders at the cutting edge of the high-tech environment to spur innovation, produce real-world solutions and ensure that graduates are job-ready to meet market needs.
