St. Norbert College - ESL Institute

The ESL Institute offers a non-credit, multi-level, intensive English program for international students. Classes are held five days a week between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 1:00p.m.

We offer three levels of instruction: elementary, intermediate, and advanced. We offer eight-week sessions during the school year and the summer. Average class size is 10 students. Academic year sessions begin in August, October, January, and March. An 8-week summer program is divided into two four-week sessions. Sessions begin in June and in July.

Overview of the ESL Institute

The ESL Institute was established in 1993. The program enrolls 20-30 students during the academic year and 20-30 students during the summer. The ESL Director is an active member of NAFSA, TESOL, and AAIEP and subscribes to the code of ethics of these professional organizations. The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredits St. Norbert College and its ESL Institute.

Within the broad field of English as a Second Language instruction, the curriculum focus of the ESLI is on English for academic and professional purposes.
