Congratulations to Mariana Barbosa of Brazil for "Remembering to Live"

2021 Travel Video Contest - Winners

International Education Week is one of the best times of the year for us because at the end of it, we get to announce and award the winners of our annual Travel Video Contest. While we tasked the judging panel with the daunting decision of choosing the winners from 12 spectacular finalists, we want to acknowledge that every submission we received was an inspiration in its own right. We’d like to thank every student who participated. With each year we run this contest, we never cease to be amazed by the passion and creativity we see in all the videos we receive.

International Student was moved by the hopes and dreams in the videos we watched, and although only three entrants will receive a prize in the contest, we are confident that every one of our finalists will continue their pursuits for an international education and a fulfilling future.

It’s with great pleasure that we announce the 2018 Travel Video Contest Winners:

$4000 First Place Winner: "Remembering to Live" by Mariana Barbosa of Brazil

Mariana's passions are driven by learning languages to communicate them in the business world. Her plans to make an impact begin with attending the University of Winnipeg in Canada and majoring in Business. Mariana will be the first in her family to attend college.

$500 Second Place Winner: "Me and My Camera" by Prabhat Gurung of Nepal

Prabhat is currently an international student at Caldwell University in the United States. He plans to visit his home country of Nepal to use his filmmaking skills to share the beauty and stories of Nepal to the world.

$250 Third Place Winner: Why Later? by Hoang Thuy Ha of Vietnam

Hoang broke from the everyday monotony of her life in Vietnam when she fell in love with dance. At 30 years old, she plans to study Dance Therapy abroad to show others that they should never wait to follow their dreams.

Thank you again to all our entrants and finalists this year. We look forward to receiving your entries next year and hope you'll encourage other students to enter as well!
